Set in a dystopian future a class of students have to fight each other to death on a deserted island.

This film has a lot wrong with it including some bad acting and some pretty cheesey moments but overall the concept is great and it is a brutally entertaining watch.

Takeshi Kitano who plays the teacher Kitano in Battle Royale is hugely prolific. He acts, directs, paints, he's designed video games and has written over 50 books of poetry, film criticism, and several novels.
