Auckland is really lacking in Mexican food so when we found Mexicali we were stoked.

Great sized portions made to order the same style as Subway (like a conveyor belt). Usual suspects are around $8 to $10. Avocado is about $2 extra which seems a bit pricey since you get only a tablespoon of avo and a whole avocado is about $1 in shops.

If I'm paying $2 for avocado, can I get 2 big spoons puh-leeeeaase? The last few times we have been however, the portions are getting smaller and smaller. In fact, the tacos I had last week were only half full. That sucks. Could just be the guy that was serving me though.

There's a Mexicali on Princess Wharf too. It's tastier and better value than the Mexican Cafe but there is still plenty of room for improvement. I just don't understand why there are so few Mexican restaurants in Auckland.
