Director - Takashi Miike

Year -1996

Country - Japan

Genre - Yakuza, Gangster, Violence

Rating - R18

Cast - Hosuke Tanihara, Kenji Takano, Marie Jinno, Tamaki Kenmochi, Toru Minegishi, Riki Takeuchi, Miho Nomoto

Riki Fudoh appears to be a highly cultured, model high school student. But underneath that gentle facade lies a deep and vengeful rage. He witnessed his brother's grisly murder at the hands of their own father, a powerful Yakuza crime lord. Sworn to revenge, Riki recruits his own teenage crime orginisation. His Goal: assinate the old generation of Yakuza bosses.

I'm a big fan of Takashi Miike films,  Audition, The Bird People of China and Ichi the Killer are fantasticly memorable films. But this over the top, extremely violent manga adaption is a little hard to swallow. Recommended but not as an introduction to Miike's extensive catalogue.
