Millers Crossing

Director – Joel Coen

Year – 1990

Country – USA

Genre - Crime, Gangster, Thriller, Drama

Cast – Gabriel Byrne, Steve Buscemi, John Turturro, Marcia Gay Harden, Albert Finney, Jon Polito etc.

Millers Crossing is a prohibition era gangster film notable for its lighting fast dialogue and brutal beauty. Gabriel Bryne plays Tom Reagan an Irish gangster and right hand man to mob boss Leo (Albert Finney), tensions grow between Leo and rising boss Caspar (Jon Polito) when Leo refuses to give up one of his underlings (played by the excellent John Turturro) who has been cheating Caspar. Neither boss budges thus an imminent mob war looms. Tom is the brains behind Leo’s operation and realizes an all out war will be have terrible consequences for both sides so launches a plan of his own. This is a Coen Brothers film so you get the high quality production values and riveting, intelligent dialogue that is associated with their films. I highly recommend this film.
