Anybody with even just a passing interest in film goes to a Scorsese picture expecting a lot, and with The Departed no one is going to be disappointed. The acting in this film is superb in fact up until now I have considered Leonardo DeCaprio a bit of a dousche bag but after this film he can truly be regarded as a great actor, as for the rest of the cast, well Jack Nicholson just reaffirms the fact that he really is the man, Martin Sheen is convincing and Mark Wahlberg is damned funny. The script and dialogue are outstanding, I particularly like the repeated use of the word dousche bag. Overall I cant recommend this film enough, it is brutal, thrilling and actually very funny. Go see it!

The departed is a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Mou Gaan Dou (Infernal Affairs).
